I like to listen to almost any type of music as long as its catchy or it puts me in a certain mood. But if i had to choose, I would say that myfavorite type of music is hip hop. I don't like a lot of the main stream stuff that you hear on the radios. I find many of them to be too loud or have rotten and dirty lyrics. I like the songs if they have good music or a good rhythm behind it. One thing i really cant stand is when the songs have swearing in them. My favorite artists would have to be Kanye West or Lupe Fiasco. Both these artist break constantly break the boundaries of hiphop music. Kanye's new music all seems to have some techno feeling it and everything Lupe makes is in some way experimental music. Both of them are well known because of their music despite being different. I recently discovered a new person called Nujabes that has a very chill style of music that i really enjoy. The song below called luv sic pt 3 is currently my favorite song.

I understand why that WII veteran felt like he needed to keep his war life a secret for all these years. Going through such a tough time of hardships and seeing all the bad things that happened must be tough to reminisce. Plus, having first hand experience with it such as the death of that other American in his hands. He wouldn't really mind signing that agreement about keeping his mouth shut since its not something that he would want to think about anyways.

A massive genocide took place in Rwanda in 1994. It lasted from April to July. Rwanda is located in central Africa. A group called the Hutu were the majority of the people, and the extremist leaders ordered a mass extermination of the Tutsi minority. It finally ended when a Tutsi group forced the Hutu extremist group out of the country. But the result was that half of the population of 7.9 million had been killed. The central African region still hasn't stabilized from this event. This is speaking the unspeakable because it's unbelievable that genocide like this is still happening.

purpose of art

My perspective for the "purpose of art" still hasn't really changed after reading "MAUS". I still think that art is just a way of expressing some kind of idea that's in their mind. Art is not required to improve the human condition; many great famous art works have nothing to do with the human condition. "MAUS" though is a way that the author used art instead of words to better the human condition.

I think that Theo Jensen does is amazing for what he does. It's kind of a break through the way he can create living creatures out of just those tubes. The way they walk looks like an animal would actually walk. This is just the beginning for his work; he still has plenty of improvements that can be made until those mechanical creatures can act like the real creatures that are on the beach. I think that this guy is kind of a genius for what he does. For example how he reinvented the wheel and used it on his creatures because it would be better for the beach conditions.

I am very glad with the results of the presidential election. I wanted Obama to win because i believe that he is the most suitable and qualified. He was the strongest candidate to be president and run our country. I am very hopeful and confident that he will help and fix many problems in our country such as the economy right now which is in deep trouble. The election related to personal identity because everyone had their own choice in who to vote for. It's a communal identity because the result is based on the majority of the community. And its a national identity because in the eyes of other countries, the president of our country is a major part of the country's identity.

Community poem

As I walk down these streets from day to day,
my impression about this place will never change.

I see people of all different sorts,
but mainly college students just like me.
The guy that goes crazy at every U of M sport,
or the kid you always see at the library.

I hear constant talking among friends.
The topics depends on who they are.
Like what TV show is the new "trend",
or who they think they're gonna vote for.

I feel safe almost at all times.
There's a student, just sleeping there
not worried if there will be a crime,
Laying on the grass without any fear.

I smell all sorts of aromas in the air.
The clean air because of all the trees.
There's tons of restaurants everywhere,
the scent of the food carried with the breeze.

I was born and raised in this Ann Arbor community,
its my home, like a fish in the deep blue sea.
